Sichuan Agricultural University

Sichuan Agricultural University is a national "Project 211" key university with biotechnology as its feature, agricultural science and technology as its advantage, and a national "Double first-class" university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is also an excellent university evaluated by the Ministry of Education for undergraduate teaching. Its predecessor was Sichuan Tongprovince Agricultural School founded in 1906. After that, it went through several historical development stages, such as Sichuan Higher Agricultural School (1912), Sichuan Special Public Agricultural School (1914), College of Agriculture of Public Sichuan University (1927), Sichuan Provincial College of Agriculture (1932), College of Agriculture of National Sichuan University (1935), and College of Agriculture of Sichuan University (1950). In 1956, the College of Agriculture of Sichuan University was moved to Ya 'an, the capital of Xikang Province (abolished in 1955). In 1985, it was renamed Sichuan Agricultural University. In 2001, Sichuan Forestry School was merged into Sichuan University. The university now has three campuses in Ya 'an, Chengdu (Wenjiang) and Dujiangyan, covering a total area of 4,500 mu with a collection of 15.79 million volumes (pieces).
