Ningbo Institute of Technology (NingboTech University), referred to as "NingboTech", is a full-time public undergraduate university sponsored by Ningbo Municipal People's Government and supported by Zhejiang University, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a master's project construction unit of Zhejiang Province, the first batch of applied construction pilot demonstration schools in Zhejiang Province, and a member university of Zhejiang Applied undergraduate university Alliance, with a postdoctoral workstation in Zhejiang Province. Ningbo Institute of Technology, formerly known as Ningbo Institute of Technology of Zhejiang University, was founded in June 2001. It was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2003 and belongs to the ranks of independent colleges. In January 2020, the Ministry of Education agreed to change it into Ningbo Institute of Technology of Zhejiang University, an independent public undergraduate level ordinary college. As of September 2023, the school covers an area of about 1116.1 mu, with a total construction area of about 384,900 square meters; The library with a total area of 20,000 square meters has a collection of more than 1.62 million volumes; There are 11 secondary colleges and 44 majors registered by the Ministry of Education. There are more than 10,000 full-time undergraduates in the school, and nearly 300 graduate students in cooperation with Zhejiang University and other universities inside and outside the province.
