Yangtze University (Yangtze University), located in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, is a key university for the construction of Hubei Province. The predecessor of the former Jianghan Petroleum Institute was the Beijing Petroleum Industry College founded in 1950. It began to hold general undergraduate education in 1978 and was affiliated to China National Petroleum Corporation. Since 2000, it has been jointly built by the central and local governments and transferred to Hubei Province for management; The former Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Teachers College, and Hubei Medical College of Health Workers were founded in 1977, 1936, and 1951, respectively.
