Ningxia University

Ningxia University (Ningxia University), referred to as "Ningda" (NXU), is located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. "Project 211" key construction universities, national "Midwest Universities Comprehensive Strength Improvement Project" universities, selected into the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program, the Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Education and Training Program, the National University Student Innovative Experimental Program, the National University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, the National Disciplinary innovation talent introduction plan for high-level colleges and universities (referred to as "111 plan"), national new engineering research and practice projects, national college students' cultural quality education base, Chinese government scholarship international students receiving institutions, Ministry of Education demonstration base for studying in China, Confucius Institute Scholarship receiving institutions, a member of the "One Province, One School" National Key Construction University Alliance (Z14), and the first batch of universities approved by the Ministry of Education to accept foreign students. The predecessors of Ningxia University were Ningxia Teachers College and Ningxia Agricultural College, which were established in September 1958. In September 1962, Ningxia Teachers College, Ningxia Agricultural College and Ningxia Medical College merged to form Ningxia University. In January 1970, Ningxia Medical College and Ningxia Agricultural College separated from Ningxia University to set up separate colleges. In December 1997, Ningxia University merged with Ningxia Institute of Technology and Yinchuan Normal College (including Ningxia Institute of Education) to form a new Ningxia University. In February 2002, Ningxia University and Ningxia Agricultural College merged to form a new Ningxia University. As of September 2022, the school covers an area of 2,938 acres; it has 30 secondary teaching units and 84 undergraduate majors; there are 3 post-doctoral research stations, 7 first-level discipline doctoral programs, and 31 first-level discipline master programs. There are 19 professional master's degree authorization centers; there are 2690 faculty members; there are 19116 full-time undergraduates, 5020 full-time master students, and 541 full-time doctoral students.
