Wuhan Institute of Technology

Wuhan Institute of Technology (WIT), referred to as Engineering University (WIT), is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. A multi-disciplinary teaching and research university with nine major disciplines. It is a key construction university in Hubei Province and a domestic first-class discipline construction university in Hubei Province. It has been selected into the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program, the Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities, and the research and practice of "New Engineering" project. Founded in June 1972, the school was formerly known as Hubei Institute of Chemical Petroleum Engineering and is affiliated to the Hubei Provincial People's Government. In March 1980, the name was changed to Wuhan Institute of Chemical Technology, and the former Ministry of Chemical Industry was in charge. In July 1998, the school was placed under the management of the Hubei Provincial People's Government, and the central and local governments were jointly established. In February 2006, it was renamed Wuhan Engineering University.
