China Pharmaceutical University (China Pharmaceutical University), located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, is a multidisciplinary key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. National "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform" construction universities, selected into the national "111 Plan", the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", the National University Student Innovative Experimental Program, the National University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, and the National Construct high-level university-sponsored postgraduate programs, national-level new engineering research and practice projects, and the leading unit of the Sino-US School of Pharmacy Alliance. Founded in 1936, the school was formerly known as the National College of Pharmacy (four-year undergraduate program), and it is the first higher education institution of pharmacy established by the state in China. It moved to Hankou in 1937, to Chongqing in 1938, and back to Nanjing in 1946. In 1950, it was renamed East China Pharmacy College. In 1952, the Department of Pharmacy of Qilu University and the Specialized Department of Pharmacy of Soochow University merged into the school to form East China College of Pharmacy. In 1953, the Pharmacy Department of Central South Health College was merged into the school. In 1956, it was renamed as Nanjing Pharmaceutical College. In 1986, it merged with Nanjing College of Chinese Materia Medica, which was under construction, to form China Pharmaceutical University. In 2000, the school was transferred from the State Drug Administration to the Ministry of Education for management. In 2001, Jiangsu Pharmaceutical School was merged into the school. As of March 2023, the school has two campuses, Xuanwumen and Jiangning, covering an area of more than 2,100 acres and a construction area of 690,000 square meters; it has 16 departments and 31 undergraduate majors (categories); on-the-job faculty members There are 1,868 people, including 1,128 full-time teachers, and 19,440 full-time students, including 11,262 undergraduates, 7,688 postgraduates, and 490 international students.
