Beijing Forestry University

From 2000 to 2014, the school won 3 second prizes of the National Award for Technological Invention and 12 second prizes of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress. Since the 11th Five-Year Plan, 1105 papers published by the university as the first author have been included in the scientific citation index and 964 in the engineering index. It has continued to undertake major scientific and technological projects such as the National Science and Technology Support Plan, the National High-tech Research and Development Plan (863 Plan), and the National Natural Science Foundation key projects, and has received 1.243 billion yuan of scientific research funds. The university has formed advantageous and characteristic research fields in terms of the molecular biological basis of tree stress resistance, the selection and cultivation technology of stress resistant plant materials, the selection, cultivation and application of new flower varieties, the selection and industrialization development of new tree varieties, the comprehensive technology of forestry ecological engineering construction, and the protection and utilization of forest biomass resources. The high-tech industrial system led by fine chemical industry of forest products is being consolidated and developed with excellent varieties such as triploid populus tomentosa, tetraploid black locust, famous flowers and ground cover plants.
