Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1958, formerly known as Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2006, it was renamed as Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2017, the school entered the ranks of world-class universities and first-class discipline construction universities. In 2020, the school will become a university jointly established by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, the Ministry of Education, and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2022, the school will become the second round of "Double First-Class" construction universities. As of September 2022, the school covers an area of more than 2,600 mu, with a construction area of 600,000 square meters; it has 12 colleges, 4 departments, and 31 undergraduate majors; there are 3 post-doctoral research stations, and 3 first-level discipline doctoral degrees Authorization points, 6 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 5 master's professional degree authorization points; there are 3,967 faculty members, 12,101 full-time undergraduates, 4,019 postgraduates, and 559 international students.
