Changsha University of Science & Technology (CSUST), located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Transport and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and belongs to the "Domestic First-class University Construction University" (Class A) of Hunan Province ), was selected into the "Central and Western Universities' Basic Capacity Building Project", the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", and the Ministry of Education's "Undergraduate Innovative Experimental Program". First, it is a university with typical employment experience for graduates in the country, and a national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform. Changsha University of Science and Technology was established in 2003 by merging the former Changsha Communications College and Changsha Electric Power College. The predecessor of the original Changsha Transportation College was the Changsha Navigation Engineering School established by the Ministry of Communications in 1956, and the predecessor of the original Changsha Electric Power College was the Changsha Hydropower School established by the Ministry of Electric Power Industry in 1956. Hunan Water Conservancy and Hydropower School, founded in 1956, and Hunan Light Industry School, founded in 1958 (later renamed Hunan Light Industry College), were merged into the original Changsha Electric Power College in 2001 and 2002.
