Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology

Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, referred to as Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT), was jointly established by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. One of the "Eight Universities", a key university directly under the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, a national "Midwest Universities Basic Capacity Building Project" and "Special Key Discipline Project" university, a provincial high-level university in Shaanxi Province, the first batch of doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees in the country Authorized unit; Selected in the 111 Program, the first batch of national outstanding engineer education and training programs, national international science and technology cooperation bases, national engineering postgraduate education innovation colleges, and national construction of high-level university public postgraduate projects. The school is characterized by civil engineering, environmental administration, material metallurgy and related disciplines, with engineering technology as the main body, and multi-disciplinary coordinated development. The earliest history of running a school can be traced back to Tianjin Beiyang Western School, which was founded in 1895; in 1956, when the colleges and departments of colleges and universities were adjusted across the country, the buildings of the former Northeast Institute of Technology, Northwest Institute of Technology, Qingdao Institute of Technology, and Sunan Industrial College , Civil Engineering, and Municipal Departments (sections) were merged into one system, then named Xi’an Institute of Architecture and Engineering; in 1959 and 1963, it was renamed Xi’an Institute of Metallurgy and Xi’an Institute of Metallurgy and Architecture; in March 1994, it was renamed Xi’an Architecture University of Science and Technology. As of March 2023, the school has two campuses, Yanta and Caotang, and a science and education industrial park, covering a total area of more than 3,700 acres; it has 21 colleges and 65 undergraduate majors; it has 1 doctoral degree authorization point, 9 1 post-doctoral mobile station, 9 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 27 first-level discipline master programs, and 18 professional master degree categories; there are more than 1,900 full-time teachers, and a total of more than 36,000 students of various types, including full-time undergraduates More than 20,000 students, nearly 10,000 graduate students, and more than 200 international students.
