Jiangsu University, located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, is a national key university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The history of the school can be traced back to the Sanjiang Normal School founded by Liu Kunyi and Zhang Zhidong in 1902. Nanjing University, Nanjing Institute of Technology and other schools continued their string songs. In 1960, Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University) was established independently as Zhenjiang Agricultural Machinery. The college was identified by the State Council as one of the 88 key universities in the country in 1978. In 1981, it became the first batch of doctoral and master degree conferring units in the country. In 1982 and 1994, it was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology and Jiangsu University of Technology. Zhenjiang Medical College and Zhenjiang Teachers College merged to form Jiangsu University. In 2003, Zhenjiang Jiangbin Hospital was placed under the school. As of February 2023, the school campus covers an area of more than 3,000 acres, with various building areas of more than 1.2 million square meters; it has 27 colleges and 1 directly affiliated tertiary first-class hospital; it offers 98 undergraduate majors; there are 40,000 students There are more than 2,700 full-time teachers; there are 2 national key disciplines and 1 national key (cultivation) discipline.
